Women & Children At Risk

On Tuesday, March 6, I'll be participating in a panel at George Washington University. The topic? "How can journalists, writers, and public interest groups best shed light on issues facing women and children around the world while remaining sensitive to individual needs and concerns?" I'll be talking about a few of the young women and children I met in India, Bangladesh and Haiti. Victoria Dunning from the Global Fund for Children and documentary filmmaker Habiba Nosheen will also be speaking. Habiba has spent the last two years researching a film about honor killing in Pakistan. She tells the story of a woman who was raped, escaped killing, and is now fighting for justice.

If you live in the Washington, DC area, please come!
